Through the challenges of COVID, Nupac successfully provided a Syntegon Tablet Press solution to Metagenics ANZ allowing them to hit their required output with consistent and quality tablets.

Metagenics, an Australian industry leader in natural medicines, was in need of a complex tablet press capable of delivering maximum performance but also suitable for different products, such as free-flowing and sticky powders. Besides the demanding products, Covid-19 implications presented a challenge, with Syntegon (previously Bosch Packaging) unable to send any technicians to support machine commissioning.
The Solution
To save time and guarantee the successful compression of the challenging products into tablets, Nupac facilitated Syntegon tests on their TPR 200 in their OSD Customer Center in Waiblingen, while the finished customer machine was being shipped to Australia.
WIth Nupac providing consistent local support, they also ensured Syntegon were available at all times to provide specialist support and insight from Germany.
Nupac’s local service team successfully commissioned this solution, managing issues around Covid-19 restrictions, and restrictions over German technicians traveling.
The Project
Metagenics first contacted Nupac in August 2019, looking to increase their in-house production capacities with the newest technology in tablet production. For its diverse portfolio Metagenics needed a compact machine, with good tablet quality and an output of more than 90 000 tablets per hour. To meet these standards, Nupac worked with Syntegon’s Pharma Services department to come up with the perfect process parameters to compress the fluffy, free-flowing and sticky powders reliably on the TPR 200. Despite challenging conditions, together we were able to reach a solution. Quick feedback and commitment from both sides resulted in a successful project outcome.
