With our final wrap up of ProSweets, we take a look at the Syntegon stand and their innovative solutions to the confectionary industry.

At ProSweets, Syntegon showcased their system competence for the confectionery industry – from kitchen, depositing, and finishing technologies to packaging solutions at booth H-009. Visitors to the booth were able to experience highlights of the line solution, such as the fully automated oiling drum Makat BC96 presented on show for the first time. Moreover, Syntegon also displayed their high-speed vertical packaging innovation, the SVX Duplex.

High Speed and Flexibility with the SVX Duplex

On display was the SVX Duplex, part of the vertical SVX series launched by Syntegon during Interpack 2023. It is the go-to machine for high speed vertical packaging with an output of up to 600 bags per minute.

The core innovation of all SVX variants is a cross-seal drive consisting of four independently controlled servo motors. The optimized solution, which currently has pending patents, gives manufacturers full control over the vertical and horizontal movement, ensuring reliable seals. Thanks to a combination of four motors and low inertia, the drive contributes to achieving highest outputs.

In terms of design and overall aesthetics, the SVX series also stands out: a front cylinder with curved sliding doors redefines machine manipulation and ease of access. Upon opening, the doors relocate to the back part of the cylinder, making sure they do not obstruct operators during the daily work. And with a machine width of only 1,220 mm the SVX Duplex can easily be integrated in a new and existing packaging lines.

On Display: Automated oiling process – Makat BC96

“Many confectionery producers are facing the challenge of varying product quality and line performance in different production shifts as well as a lack of skilled personnel. Centerlining features and automation can help to overcome this issue, not only for the kitchen or depositing line, but also for the finishing equipment. That was our motivation to develop our new Makat BC96” declares Dr. Sandra Link, Product Manager at Makat.

With product finishing the last process step during gummy and jelly production, and having a great influence on the packaged product, fully automated oiling drum Makat BC96 has several centerlining features and recipe management for a lower process variability.

This recipe management, centerlining, automation and process monitoring as well as operator guiding of the Makat BC96 align all towards shared goals: an enhancement of the process reliability, a higher quality of gummies, less waste and a high uptime of the machine, meaning greater outcomes for manufacturers.
